Our team

Lauren Keiper, LMHC (She/They)

Owner & Psychotherapist

As a nonbinary therapist, I deeply understand the need for competent and affirming care for marginalized groups. I offer my clients a nonjudgmental space where they can explore their feelings, learn more about themselves, and continue to grow. Life can often be challenging, and I like to help others feel confident in their ability to get through those tough times. I have training in cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and psychodynamic therapy. Every person is unique, and I collaborate with each client to develop a plan that is tailored to them.

Taylor Mefford, LMHC (He/They)

Psychotherapist

I believe in cultivating a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship where we can explore the challenges you face. It is my hope that clients will be able to use the safety of this relationship to learn how to approach these challenges with courage and curiosity. I have experience working with adolescents and adults facing many concerns, with an emphasis on trauma, identity exploration, anxiety/panic, and grief. My collaborative style is rooted in psychodynamic, humanistic, and culturally-centered therapies, with the client’s journey and values at the center of our work together.

Deanna Brown, MHC-LP (She/They)

Psychotherapist

As a mental health professional, I help individuals, couples, and families engage in some of life’s most difficult conversations. I use a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and compassion-focused approach to guide clients towards seeing themselves in a more clear, connected, and empathetic way. I specialize in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients feel good about themselves, ask for what they need, build secure connections, and lean into their strengths while discovering their personal power towards positive change.

May Steinberg (she/her)

Student Psychotherapist

I'm currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Northwestern University, and for 10 years prior, my career was focused on social justice communications. These experiences have led me to view the world from a feminist and decolonial lens, and I am building a person-centered, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approach to counseling upon this foundation. I'd also like to dive deeper into learning to utilize DBT frameworks. At times, we may view ourselves as our own "frenemies", but by gaining greater awareness of our faults and our fabulosity we can take positive steps along our lifelong relationship with ourselves.
